Time for a breath.
Well.. that was quite the experience! It is difficult to express the time pressure that a snap election puts on a campaign team. As a candidate, I have to ask people to donate their time and energy to help me run an effective campaign. I can not over-state this:
I could not have done it without them!
Without the small, but dedicated, team of people behind me, I likely would not have even made it on to the ballot! So, I want to take a moment to ensure they know just how grateful am for their help.
Thank you. Thank you for standing up for your principals and for believing in our common future. Thank you for allowing me to be the person to represent the philosophies that are bigger than any individual. Thank you for your positive attitudes and willingness to put your trust in someone that was a stranger when this all started. I am humbled and honoured to work with each of you!
This was my first time being involved in a political campaign. I was also so happy to see the collaboration between neighbouring candidates and the efforts of the provincial greens to support the federal candidates. It was heart-warming.
There are specific volunteers that I would like to recognize for their significant contributions to the team.
Aaron Keogh - The signature collecting machine!
Peter Gladden - Single-handedly installed our Seymour signage.
Matthew Blais - Campaign manager, volunteer coordinator, canvas manager, etc. etc. etc.......
Janice McTaggart - Stepped out of her comfort zone to fill a critical role for Elections Canada that allowed the campaign to even exist.
Keep that fire burning, something tells me that we might be at this again before too long.
